Chartway Civil Engineering (CCE), part of the Chartway Partnerships Group, is pleased to announce today its appointment by BAM Construction for the groundworks, drainage, and external works for the redevelopment of Wrotham School.
The project, which is part of the Department for Education’s wave two school improvement program, will see the replacement of the existing school buildings and the addition of new facilities.
Chartway Civil Engineering will be responsible for delivering the essential groundwork and drainage systems for the new classroom block, which will replace buildings located in the northwest and southeast corners of the Wrotham School campus.
The redevelopment is due to be completed in phases to ensure minimal disruption to the school’s operations, with temporary classrooms being installed on-site and existing buildings remaining in use until the new facilities are ready.
This new contract continues the successful partnership between Chartway Civil Engineering and BAM, following their collaboration on the Stone Lodge School project. BAM, which was awarded the £42 million contract for Wrotham School, is leading the redevelopment project, with architect KSS Group responsible for the design of the new three-storey school building and sports pitch.
Jonathan Payne, Managing Director, Chartway Civil Engineering:
“We are delighted to continue our working relationship with BAM Construction, and we’re proud to be contributing to the redevelopment of Wrotham School. The redevelopment of Wrotham School will enhance the learning environment for students, offering new classrooms, modernised facilities, and improved sports amenities, ensuring the school is well-equipped to serve the needs of its growing community.
“Following the successful completion of Stone Lodge School, we’re looking forward to delivering another vital educational infrastructure project that will provide significant benefits to the local community.”
