Chilmington Green Road
This project demonstrates Chartway Civil Engineering’s ability to deliver complex infrastructure works on challenging terrain. Installation of deep drainage whilst dealing with ground water and assisting the designers with information to make sure they produce a design that will last. Managing a project under difficult circumstances with tight dead lines to a high standard inside the site and in the traffic management zoes on a busy road.
Scope of Works
Chartway civil engineering were appointed as PC to deliver a time sensitive project and infrastructure to a new road for KCC. The works included a large scale cut and fill operation to the new road footprint as well as man made ponds to the peripheries of the road to take the surface water from the road. Deep drainage both foul and storm systems installed to depth of up to five metres deep in places whilst dealing with vast flow of ground water. Hard landscaping to the road and footpaths as well as our own in house surfacing division laying the tarmac to KCC adoptable standard.
Key Works Elements
- Cut and fill earthworks to the footprint of the road.
- Deep drainage install of concrete drainage ranging from 300mm circ to 1200mm circ pipes.
- Forming of ponds to the peripheries of the road.
- Installation of hard landscaping items kerbs, edgings
- Dealing with ecological issues arising during the project and managing them along side natural England
- Traffic management zones on a busy road.
